True story: I dropped my iPhone onto the ceramic-tiled bathroom floor this morning from a height of about five feet. Instead of it being a tragedy, it was a minor event that I shrugged off. The phone bounced, and I picked it up unharmed.

How could such thing happen? It’s not luck. It’s a Ballistic phone case.

I can’t say enough good things about this brand, and I’ve been using one for the last three models of phone that I’ve had. I’m currently using an iPhone 8, but they make them for all the recent models. Also available for Galaxy, Motorola, and HTC.

The case is a two piece. First there’s a rubber sleeve that fits over the corners and edges to give it a nice bounce instead of crunch. Then there’s a hard-plastic/metal shell that snaps on over the rubber. Perfectly designed to fit the phone model so that buttons, screen, camera, speakers, and so forth are all still usable.

It’s no longer slippery-sleek, but I like the rugged look that it has now instead. And it has certainly saved my phone from damage on several drops worse than the one this morning.

Here’s a link to the one that I currently use, available on Amazon. From there, you can search around for their other variations of model and color.
