Almost all chocolates are pretty good. Some are very good. Most are cheap enough in bulk that you can gobble down a pound of them in a sitting if you want to experience the glory of quantity.
Then there are chocolates like Taza with their disks. Chocolate Mexicano, as they say. The best chocolate that I’ve tried so far, I say. Chocolate to nibble, let dissolve in your mouth, and really savor. Or put a disk in a pan, add a mug of almond milk (dairy milk if you’re into that), and gently warm until melted for some amazing hot chocolate.
It is comparatively pricey, but worth it if you want to treat yourself. All natural, organic, non-GMO, dairy-free, kosher, direct trade, gluten-free, soy-free, and vegan. Not sugar-free or calorie-free, but that’s a pretty low-guilt list.
The cocoa beans are stone ground, which creates a grainy texture rather than smooth – I think that’s part of the appeal. The added flavors are there without being overpowering. The pepper flavors have a little kick without being too hot.
